Hove were depleted by a stag weekend but still beat Crowborough 35-8 in an undistinguished tussle. Ashley Drakeford and Chris Henderson scored two tries apiece, Benji Tocan also crossed and Marin Lovell converted all five.
Hastings and Bexhill played their best rugby of the season in winning 60-3 at Pulborough. Danny Relph marked his return to the first team after a two-year absence with two tries.
Kit Claughton (2), Paul Sandeman, Seb Halligan, David Northen, Anthony Roche and Ben Campbell also got over. Sandeman added six conversions and a penalty. Seaford were 49-7 winners at home to Rye.
Sussex Two leaders Old Brightonians were given a scare before beating Royal Sun Alliance 29-25 in a great contest. Caleb Calvin led them home with two tries and two conversions.
Paul Atkins, Dougie Edmunds and Ted Littlewood also crossed. RSA were 14 points down at one stage but two tries from scrum half Andy Stephenson got them back into it.
Neil Stanley also crossed twice and Paul Bowen capped a forward drive as the Horsham-based side led 25-24 going into added time.
Hellingly edged in 13-12 at Newick and St Francis overcame Midhurst 29-5.
