Zesh Rehman faces an anxious wait for confirmation from Mark McGhee that his spell on loan to Albion from Fulham will be extended.
The 20-year-old midfielder's first month finishes with Saturday's trip to Peterborough.
Assistant Bob Booker agreed an extension while he was in caretaker charge and still in the race for the managerial vacancy on a permanent basis.
"It all depends on the new manager," Booker said.
"Zesh has not come to me because of the change in circumstances. I would think it will carry on but we'll have to wait and see after Saturday."
Leon Knight had a hospital check-up on Monday after suffering mild concussion during Saturday's 1-0 home defeat by Stockport.
Albion's top scorer is expected to be fit for the Peterborough match along with midfielder Richard Carpenter, who also missed training to protect a foot injury.
Gary Hart will be walking a disciplinary tightrope against Posh after collecting his fourth caution of the season against Stockport.
One more and Hart will be banned but Robbie Pethick is available again after serving a two-match suspension.
Keeper Ben Roberts makes his comeback from injury for the reserves at Ringmer in the Sussex Senior Cup tomorrow night (7.30pm).
Roberts has been out since September 13. Ross Flitney, who signed on loan as cover, has returned to Fulham.
