After reading about the antics of comedian Johnny Vegas, I am not surprised he lost his audience (The Argus, October 25).
More than 50 people who had paid £17 for a ticket walked out of the Dome on Thursday night.
Vegas, appearing as part of this year's Paramount Comedy Festival, clearly offended many members of the audience.
The show appears to have turned sour when he lit a cigarette on stage and invited the audience to do so.
There is a smoking ban at The Dome and even Vegas has to respect this - he cannot do what he likes on stage.
This ban is for health, safety and comfort reasons. After asking management to put the lights up, the show descended into chaos.
Management did not seem to know what to do and the show overran by half an hour.
Audiences go to see a show to be entertained, not abused and offended.
