We are always hearing in the news about how bad the NHS is so let me say some words in its favour.
My mother has recently had a stay in ward L8 East (orthopaedic) of the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
The care, attention and service was exemplary and the nursing staff could not have been nicer.
They were always cheerful and put the comfort of their patients above everything else.
As visitors, we were made to feel welcome and kept informed of our mother's progress.
The food was good and always looked inviting. The staff served it hot and were cheerful and helpful.
From the consultant to the cleaning staff, each and every one made Mum's stay as pleasant as was possible.
After ten days, she then moved to the new "Hospital Hotel" for a few days' convalescence and again the facilities and her care were of the highest standard.
Well done to all the staff and many thanks.
