Haywards Heath face the moment of truth as they bid to celebrate their first ever National League victory on Saturday.
Heath, bottom of National Three South after losing their first five games, host fellow strugglers Old Patesians at Whitemans Green (2.30pm).
Both sides will be seeing it as a great chance to pick up a win, although the Cheltenham-based visitors are in slightly less urgent need.
They have two points to their name from a win at Weston-Super-Mare, one of the teams to have beaten Heath.
The Sussex side, however, have put up decent displays in recent weeks against the top three teams in the division and are confident they can turn that promise into two points.
Skipper Alex Meredith said: "It will be a tough old battle, we know that, but we have taken a lot of positives from our displays.
"We will meet early on, we will have a good preparation and we believe this is a game we should win."
Heath introduced lock John Salisbury, wing Paul Fleming and full back Huw Griffin into the side which lost 42-33 at North Walsham last week.
All three did enough to keep their places, though Griffin switches to the wing with Andrew Cook returning at full back.
Worthing's good recent run gets a stern test at Hertford in London One.
The hosts are currently third in the table, the same position they occupied last season when they were pipped to the promotion play-off spot by Haywards Heath.
Worthing coach Ian Davies is not surprised to see Hertford, Intermediate Cup winners last season, riding high.
He said: "At the start of the season I tipped them to be in the top three along with Havant and Old Albanians.
"The side they had last year is now back together. They have got their two regular props back playing and they have turned results around."
Worthing are forced into two changes from the side which comfortably saw off Camberley last week and hope to make a third.
Flanker Guy Cook is away so Russell Carr returns.
Ali Coombe needed stitches to an eye wound sustained against Camberley so Terry Butler returns on the left wing.
The change Worthing hope to make is recalling key lineout jumper Charlie McGowan in the second row after an elbow injury.
Lewes can go top of London Three South East if they win their big game at fellow high-flyers Dartfordians.
It is also crunch time at the foot of the table where Bognor and Brighton both look to end losing runs as they clash at Hampshire Avenue.
Bognor's form has been the better, losing games by an average margin of just three points.
Brighton, however, insist they have turned the corner after a battling display against Sevenoaks last week. They hope to recall experienced Mark Gibb to boost a youthful pack.
East Grinstead tackle leaders Old Dunstonian in Four South East.
Top match in Sussex One is between Heathfield and Horsham, both of whom have 100 per cent records in the league.
