A 17-year-old girl bravely fought off a sex attacker by biting him on the shoulder.
The teenager was indecently assaulted as she walked from Worthing railway station towards Bridge Road around 6.15pm on November 3.
Her attacker approached from behind as she neared Caxton Court, Broadwater Road.
Detectives say the girl was able to bite the man hard on his right shoulder. He stopped and ran off in the direction of the railway station.
The attacker was white, about 6ft with dark, receding hair. He wore a dark fleece with a zip up to the chin, black jeans and dark footwear.
He had a collarless shirt and should now have an injury to his shoulder.
Detective Constable Dave Dowell, investigating the assault, said: "This was a very frightening attack but the young lady managed to fight off the offender by biting him.
"We are extremely keen to identify this man and I would appeal to any witnesses to contact Sussex Police."
