Residents have backed a controlled parking scheme soon to come into operation in Hove.
Brighton and Hove City Council is preparing bays in the southern part of Westbourne ward which will be in use from Monday, November 17.
The scheme came about after pressure from residents which increased after the neighbouring Central Hove scheme was started.
There was opposition to controlled parking from Poets Corner, so there is no scheme for that area.
Transport councillor Simon Battle said: "This parking scheme in Westbourne south will greatly improve the availability of parking for residents. We would like to thank the people who responded to the consultation as their comments have helped us build the right scheme for the area.
"The scheme aims to balance the needs of all sections of the community and will provide a mix of residents' permit parking and shared pay and display parking."
The Westbourne south scheme (Zone R) will be reviewed after six months.
Modena Road is also being considered as part of the scheme following requests from residents. It will be suggested for inclusion as part of the review.
Residents and businesses will have permits discounted for the first year.
