Hastings United turned in their best performance of the season against high riding King's Lynn but still ended with nothing.
United were in the contest until the final moments. Keeper Will Toal had an inspired game but was beaten on 16 minutes when Malcolm Ndekwe converted a corner.
The visitors levelled on 36 minutes when Russell Eldridge drilled home a free kick.
The Linnets were awarded a dubious penalty at the start of the second half but Toal saved from Carl Holmes' spot kick.
The hosts regained the lead on 70 minutes through Richard Woodrow and Chris Bacon made it 3-1 before United's Mitchell Sherwood picked up a back pass to fire past home keeper John Higgs.
United were pressing for the equaliser when Holmes put the result beyond doubt in stoppage time.
