A man was beaten with a baseball bat as he walked home from a town centre pub in Eastbourne with a friend.
The pair left the Royal Sovereign pub, Seaside Road, at 11pm last Tuesday when they were attacked by three men.
One of the victims, aged 18, was chased into Bourne Street, where he was hit with the bat.
His friend, 22, was cornered in Pevensey Road and hit with a metal object.
Both needed hospital treatment and one had a serious head wound.
They described their attackers as black and aged 23 or 24.
One was 5ft 7in, skinny, clean shaven and wore a grey tracksuit and white trainers.
The second was 5ft 4in, clean shaven and wore a black hooded top, black jeans and white trainers, while the third man was 5ft 5in, skinny with a moustache. He wore a grey top and white trainers.
