Book borrowers will get a better service after plans to revamp Worthing Library were approved.
The library in Richmond Road is getting a major facelift and £20,000-worth of new books.
The layout of the lending library on the ground floor is being redesigned to make it easier for readers to track down titles.
A special browsing and seating area is being created and the height of most shelves is being lowered to make items more accessible.
West Sussex County Council executive Mike Coleman said: "These changes mean we will provide a better service for borrowers. The new books we have bought are a result of suggestions from our fiction feedback forms."
The fiction, large print and biography sections will be closed from November 17 until the following Saturday.
Access to six of the library's 34 computers will also be limited.
