Zesh Rehman wants to put Brighton and Hove Albion back on top of Division Two.
The Seagulls led the table in the early stages of the 20-year-old Fulham midfielder's loan which ended with the 2-2 draw away to Peterborough on November 1.
But the former England youth player hopes he can reverse the slide that has seen Albion lose four of their last six matches, including last Saturday's FA Cup defeat at Lincoln.
Rehman will sign for another month today and hopes to go straight back into the side to face Bristol City at Withdean tomorrow.
He said: "I'm delighted to be coming back. I was in a side that led the table and now I want to play my part in putting Brighton back where they belong at the top.
"I suppose the uncertainty of who was going to take over as manager from Steve Coppell didn't help but now Mark McGhee has settled in I'm sure Albion can get on track again.
"I'm looking forward to meeting up with all of the guys again and playing."
He could line up against City alongside Mark Yeates, signed on loan from Tottenham on Wednesday.
Rehman said: "I understand Mark's a left sided midfielder. When I was at Brighton before I played centrally so I'd look forward to linking up with him."
He did not hesitate when the chance came for him to rejoin the Seagulls.
Rehman said: "My first month at Brighton helped me as a player and a person because it gave me the chance of regular first team football."
He does not blame Fulham for recalling him following a run of seven successive matches for Albion in which he scored two goals.
Rehman said: "I understood Fulham's reasons for wanting me back because there was an bit of an injury crisis.
"I got in the Premiership squads for the Liverpool and Charlton matches and, although I didn't get to play, it gave me a little bit of extra confidence as just being a part of it showed they didn't think I was that far away.
"Fulham boss Chris Coleman has been very good about it all and understands why I want another month at Brighton. So has Mark McGhee."
Young striker Jake Robinson has been added to the squad for tomorrow's game.
Albion's LDV Vans Trophy match against QPR at Loftus Road will be played on Sunday, December 7 (1pm).
