A young man was stabbed in the stomach outside an East Sussex pub.
The 27-year-old victim was taken to hospital after the attack outside the Berwick Inn, near Hailsham.
Trouble flared after a man in his mid-20s got involved in a fight with a man in his 50s outside.
Later, the older man and his friends brawled with the victim and one of his friends.
After the stabbing, an ambulance and police were called.
The attacker fled but is described as white, aged about 30, 6ft and slim.
Police have just released details of the incident, on Saturday night.
