Thousands of Meat Loaf fans have been left disappointed after the singer pulled out of a sell-out gig.
The heavyweight singer, famous for belting out operatic rock anthems like Bat Out Of Hell, was due on stage at the Brighton Centre tonight.
However, the concert was cancelled after Meat Loaf was admitted to hospital on Friday.
After undergoing a "procedure" which has not been disclosed, the 52-year-old was discharged and is now resting at a private location.
The 4,000-seat Brighton Centre was sold out and marketing manager Wendy Walton asked fans to keep hold of their tickets.
She said: "We are obviously very disappointed but hopeful we will be announcing a rescheduled date very shortly.
"Meat Loaf is obviously taking advice from his doctors and taking things one day at a time. I am sure fans will understand.
"In the meantime, ticket holders are advised to keep hold of their tickets as they will be valid for the new date.
"Everyone here wishes Meat Loaf a speedy recovery and we hope to see him back in Brighton early next year."
It was hoped to announce the rearranged date within in the next few days.
