The article "Park to get help from friends" (The Argus, November 15) gave an entirely false impression of Stanmer village and park.
Although Mr Hooper is a newcomer to the village, he must be well aware the very active Stanmer Preservation Society is a registered charity and has been fighting on behalf of the village and park for more than 30 years.
If Green councillor Georgia Wrighton thinks having a group to watch over happenings in the park would be a good idea, I suggest she ascertains which organisation presented evidence at two recent local inquiries and continually chases up council departments in respect of new developments, maintenance, vandalism and so on.
