Horsham earned three valuable points in their quest to stay in the premier division of the British League.
They lost to the two top teams - London Progress and the Peniel Academy - but defeated Darlington 5-3 and drew 4-4 with Barnet.
Their top scorers were Stephen Beerling and Adrian Moore, both with three wins.
Horsham captain Andy Walker said: "We now have seven points with six matches left. This will be a tight finish. Progress and Peniel are the two outstanding teams but the other five can all beat each other."
Walker played a captain's role when he beat Barnet's highly rated Neil Charles.
Horsham were lucky against Darlington that Sussex No 1 Ritchie Venner was unable to make the journey due to family commitments, leaving Darlington a man short.
Entries for the Sussex Championships on January 3-4 are now closing.
Sussex players not yet entered should contact organiser Ron Eglin on 01243 544721 without delay.
