An amateur photographer will have a picture displayed alongside the work of leading artists at a famous gallery.
When Brighton volunteer Ruth England returned from a trip to Mexico, she hoped to display the photos she took there in a community centre or local school.
Instead they will be exhibited at the Tate Modern in London, home to creations by artists including Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin and Rachel Whiteread.
Ruth, from Brighton, led a group of volunteers through Mexico after securing National Lottery funding through the Millennium Commission.
She took part in a range of ecological and environmental projects.
One of the photos she took to document her work was of a marine turtle that hatched on Colola beach, where international volunteers try to protect the endangered species.
It is to be in the Out Of Time exhibition at the Tate Modern, which runs from December 1 to 19.
