Five teenagers died after a series of road accidents inside 24 hours.
Four were killed by car crashes on Friday and a motorcyclist died after colliding with a lamp post on Saturday morning.
A 19-year-old died after a crash in Devil's Dyke Road in Hove on Friday afternoon.
The accident involved three cars: a Citroen Saxo, a Ford Mondeo estate and a Volvo estate.
The Saxo driver, from Southwick, was revived at the scene by an off-duty nurse but died three hours later in the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton. The two other drivers were taken to hospital for minor injuries.
The victims were not named by Sussex Police, who operate data protection guidelines.
An 18-year-old man died after his Renault Clio was in collision with a VW transporter van on the A286 in Kingsley Green, near Midhurst, on Friday at 2.30pm.
The man, from Hampshire, was taken to the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford, where he died.
Fire crews from Midhurst and Chichester spent more than an hour cutting three other men free from the wreckage.
One man in his 50s was trapped for about 80 minutes, suffering from serious chest and other injuries. Another man, in his 20s and believed to be a rear seat passenger, suffered serious head injuries.
Both were taken to St Richard's Hospital in Chichester.
A 32-year-old man, believed to be another car passenger, was taken to St Richard's Hospital by the Joint Police Ambulance helicopter with serious head and other injuries.
A man and a woman, both 18, were travelling in a Peugeot which crashed on the A268 at Frimwell, near Robertsbridge, at 10.25pm on Friday.
Three ambulances raced to treat them but both victims died at the scene near Sunny Band Garage.
The driver of a Ford, also involved in the accident, was taken to the Conquest Hospital in Hastings, with minor injuries.
An 18-year-old man was killed when his motorcycle collided with a lamp post on the A259 at Guestling, near Hastings, on Saturday at 8am.
