Six legs are better than four or two for Cynthia Pitts and her dog Kola.
The pair walked off with the best six legs category at the Discover Dogs event in London.
Held at Earl's Court, the event was organised by the Kennel Club and aimed to show prospective owners the fun and friendship they can get from owning a dog.
The best six legs category was judged by TV wildlife expert Chris Packham.
Cynthia, from Crawley, spent two weeks making a woolly cover for her legs which matched Kola's colouring.
She said: "It was hard work but worth it in the end."
Kola is a bearded collie/lurcher cross and 20 months old. Cynthia got him from the Kit Wilson Trust rescue centre near Uckfield.
She said: "He is a lovely natured dog and really good with children. He works as a Pets As Therapy dog and regularly works at Crawley Hospital and with children with special needs."
