A schoolgirl was continuing to fight for her life last night after being hit by a car.
The 11-year-old suffered serious injuries in the collision with a Jeep Cherokee on Monday afternoon.
She was taken to the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath and later transferred to a neurological unit at King's Hospital in London.
Her condition was said to be serious.
The accident happened on the A275, close to the junction with Mill Lane in South Chailey near Lewes.
It was witnessed by several parents and children.
The Jeep driver, a 65-year-old man from Seaford, was unhurt.
The names of those involved have not been released by Sussex Police, who operate data protection guidelines.
