Crawley Town boss Francis Vines was relieved after a narrow win over Tiverton Town ended their losing run.
Second half strikes by Robert Smith and Charlie MacDonald eventually decided the premier division clash after the visitors had taken an early lead through Kevin Nancekivell.
The victory followed two depressing league defeats and lifted Reds from eighth to fourth place in the table, with a game in hand on the top three.
Vines said: "It was a relief to win, and that's an understatement. Conceding the goal was disappointing. Players are just not doing their jobs."
Nancekivell gave Tiverton the lead in the 16th minute when he tucked away from close range.
At the end of a poor first half display Crawley's Joff Vansittart forced a diving save from keeper Stuart Fraser, then had another effort disallowed because team-mate MacDonald fouled the keeper.
The second half was all Crawley and they equalised on 57 minutes through a cross from deep on the right by Smith which beat the keeper and went in.
MacDonald scored Town's winner in the 79th minute with a superb shot into the top left hand corner.
