West Sussex County Councillors have discussed modifications to the West Sussex structure plan which included a recommendation that large-scale housing should be allocated to East Grinstead.
Despite overwhelming opposition to these houses, with 96.3 per cent of voters saying no to 2,500-plus houses in the referendum, it is disappointing that only one of our three county councillors voted against the amendments.
Meanwhile, Councillor Andrew Brock has said WSCC "must listen and take notice of the views and concerns of East Grinstead people".
Coun Brock has told us he will arrange a meeting between the PRC and Councillor Steve Waight, cabinet member for strategic planning and environment, as a matter of urgency to ensure East Grinstead residents are given due consideration.
