A man mourning the death of his wife has sparked an urgent police search after going missing two days before Christmas.
Roger Shackelton, 55, was last seen by a neighbour in Woodlands Close, Peacehaven, on December 23.
Police said he had taken his wife's death particularly badly and they were extremely concerned about his welfare.
His details have been circulated to taxi and bus companies, while CCTV operators in the area have been informed.
A force spokesman said: "Officers have been actively looking for him.
"At this stage, we are very concerned for Mr Shackelton's welfare. He has taken the recent death of his wife very badly."
When last seen, he was wearing trainers, a blue and grey tracksuit and carried a black and yellow rucksack. It is believed he had a green racing bike.
He is about 5ft 11in, with a pale complexion, of medium build, with short grey hair.
He wears reading glasses and has a surgical scar below his left ear extending to his neck.
