Six African land snails were among hundreds of animals handed over to a rescue charity for rehoming in the last three months.
One tortoise and six ferrets were also taken in, together with the more usual 96 cats, 75 dogs, 61 wild birds and mammals and 75 small animals, as well as poultry and aviary birds.
A total of 328 animals were accepted by the Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare, Ringmer, in the last three months.
The centre was founded by Miss Mabel Raymonde-Hawkins in 1952.
About 1,500 unwanted and abandoned animals arrive at the centre annually, including donkeys, horses, goats, sheep, pot-bellied pigs and other smaller animals.
The centre is undergoing redevelopment, with a proposal for new kennels, a new cattery, isolation facilities, a new veterinary surgery and a new "meet and greet" area.
The charity is funding the work with the sale of its former Old Pest House and premises at Crawley as well as from donations and sponsorship.
Raystede is open to the public daily between 10am and 4pm.
