A Shoreham firm making parts for the aerospace industry has merged with one of its chief competitors to expand its overseas customer base.
Satair Hardware Group (SHG), based at Shoreham Airport, has taken over Lentern Aircraft Limited and Lentern International.
The deal includes Lentern's aerospace hardware manufacturing base at Southend Airport and its change of name to Satair Hardware (Southend).
It will allow SHG to bolster its position as one of the largest hardware distributors in Europe and gain access to a small share of the north American market.
SHG Chief executive Rod Scott said: "Satair's strength and excellent reputation in both the original equipment manufacture and aftermarket sectors made it an attractive merger partner for Lentern.
"The acquisition will result in a larger, leaner and more competitive organisation."
Integration of the two companies will be complete within 18 months.
