Brighton and Hove has the highest homeless population outside London, no decent coach station, the toilet facilities at the railway station are disgusting and Brighton Pier is wonderful so why do we need to spend millions of pounds on the West Pier?
I have a suggestion: Sell tickets at 50p a time in aid of the Martlets Hospice and the winning ticket has the honour of blowing up the West Pier.
The Martlets would get a lot of money and the money intended for the pier could be spent on the homeless facilities to make Brighton and Hove a great city.
