A teenage boy was killed when his moped was in collision with a car.
The 16-year-old rider died at the junction of Moat Lane, Westfield, near Hastings, at 12.20am on Saturday.
Police believe the boy, who was riding a Suzuki moped, collided with a Vauxhall Astra. The car swerved off the road and knocked over three trees.
Its driver, a 19-year-old Hastings man and his passengers, two 17-year-old girls and a 26-year-old man, received minor injuries.
They were taken to the Conquest Hospital, Hastings, but they were later released.
Police closed the road for more than seven hours as crash investigators collected evidence and cleared away debris.
Today, a carpet of flowers marked the crash spot in tribute to the young moped rider, whose identity is expected to be released later this week.
Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone who saw the collision should contact Sergeant Kevin Donovan on 01424 456085.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
