A man suspected of brandishing a gun on a busy commuter train has been bailed.
Hundreds of people were caught up in delays on the rail network after a passenger called police saying he had seen a man on board with a gun.
British Transport Police boarded the London to Hastings train at West St Leonards station and arrested a man in his 20s at 5pm on Friday.
The train was held at the station for 90 minutes causing major delays across the rail network.
Officers were also preparing to make a fingertip search of the train but so far, no gun has been found.
A BTP spokesman said: "The man was arrested without incident and no shots were fired."
The man, thought to be from Serbia, was released yesterday and bailed to appear at Hastings police station on February 10.
