Architects the RH Partnership has been chosen to design a £3.5 million innovation centre.
The Brighton-based firm will produce the scheme for Hastings and Bexhill Task Force (Sea Space) in conjunction with the South-East of England Development Association.
There will be 30,000sqft of business space on redundant land at Churchfields for high-technology businesses to start up or expand in the Hastings area. The centre is due to open in September 2005.
Peter Liddell, of RH, said a key factor influencing the client's choice was the firm's extensive experience in designing innovation centres.
Challenges to the firm include a sloping site which is densely wooded at the lower parts leaving access restricted to the upper part.
