I understand the city council is seeking a new "brand" for Brighton and Hove.

I wonder if any of our civic officials have thought of adapting the motto of the former Borough of Hove.

For a city which is vandalising its conservation areas with skips, closing its only remaining major library and cutting a niggardly grant to the Philharmonic Society, I think Floreat Philistinia would be most appropriate.
