A final plea has been made to Post Office officials to reverse their decision to close Eastbourne's main branch this weekend.
The Upperton Road branch will shut on Saturday despite petitions, demonstrations and letters of objection.
Post Office Ltd blamed spiralling losses, prompted partly by a boom in text messaging and email, for the closure.
However, angry customers have called for the decision to be overturned.
Many condemned the consultation process as flawed, saying thousands of opponents of the plan were ignored.
The Liberal Democrats' Eastbourne parliamentary hopeful, Stephen Lloyd, said the nearby Terminus Road branch would be unable to handle the extra customers.
