Lewes are back on top of Division One after two goals in the first 11 minutes laid the foundations for a comfortable victory at the Dripping Pan.
The Rooks have moved above previous leaders Windsor & Eton on goal difference and also have a game in hand on their rivals.
Within a minute of the start, Lee Newman bundled home a Peter Adeniyi cross from close range for his 27th goal of the season to give the Rooks the lead against the basement side.
Ten minutes later Kirk Watts raced on to a delightful through ball from Junior Kadi and finished coolly to double the lead.
However, a determined display by the visitors for the remaining 79 minutes ensured there were no further goals.
Adeniyi did curl one effort just wide at the end of one of his trademark mazy dribbles but in truth Steven King's side became increasingly careless when in possession.
The Rooks face Met Police on Saturday.
