The Environment Agency has applied for planning permission to build flood defences in the Malling area of Lewes.
The defences are intended to protect the Malling Brooks industrial estate, Tesco store and residential areas around Spences Lane, Orchard Road and The Spinneys.
The recreation ground will not be protected and will remain as an overflow area for flood water if the river Ouse bursts its banks.
The proposals will be on display at the Malling Community Centre today from 2pm to 8pm, tomorrow from 2pm to 5pm and Saturday from 10am to 4pm.
The application will be considered by Lewes District Council.
