Eastbourne Borough beat Rye and Iden United at Priory Lane to take another decisive step towards a third successive final.
But the County League visitors made Garry Wilson's men fight all the way before a semi-final place was safely secured.
Borough now face Eastbourne United or Albion Reserves, who clash at The Oval next week.
There was not a hint of a booking in a sporting encounter between the two old rivals, with two second half goals finally seeing Borough through.
Eastbourne dominated the first half without seriously troubling Rye keeper Jon Gardner.
Dean Chamberlain came to Rye's rescue in the 31st minute when he headed Stuart Playford's shot off the line.
But Rye, who impressed with some attractive football, had the best chance of the half when Paul Tuppenney's close range effort was superbly saved by Lee Hook.
Borough went ahead in the 57th minute through Ian Pulman, who tucked away Scott Ramsay's cross at the far post. Ramsay scored the second himself 11 minutes from time with a comfortable half volley.
