Sussex funeral director FA Holland and Son is investing thousands of pounds to make its funeral parlours more welcoming.
The company is redecorating its premises in Littlehampton, Chichester, Worthing, Bognor, Selsey, East Wittering and Rustington.
The aim is to help people feel more at ease when making funeral arrangements and help take away some of the fear that surrounds funerals.
Work on the makeovers has already begun and is expected to be completed by the end of the month.
The company is also changing its name to FA Holland Funeralcare in a bid to attract more customers.
John Woodford, for FA Holland Funeralcare, said: "Research shows the image of funeral homes tends to be uninviting.
"As providers of a professional and caring service we want our funeral homes to be approachable and welcoming to the bereaved."
