Despite all the excuses for not using Waterhall, it is the only suitable site for a stadium for Brighton and Hove Albion.

1. It is on the junction of the A27 and A23.

2. It would be a simple task to build a halt on the main line.

3. Drivers would be encouraged to come by train and leave their infernal machines at home.

4. Visiting fans would not be inclined to come into the City, to cause their usual mayhem.

5. It would still be a catchment area for water (the ground would have a large playing pitch, I presume).

6. The rain water would be stored, collected and filtered in the chalk underground tanks.

7. If they could build the old electricity and gas works on the sandbank at the harbour, the Waterhall site would present little comparable difficulty.
