In all the discussions about increasing the number of inhabitants of our city, no mention is made of the 19th-Century street patterns.
It stands to reason that newcomers will have their own form of transport, usually a car, and in some cases, two.
But a look at Western Road any time of the day shows that more traffic equals more snarl-ups.
The roads are far too narrow. The powers-that-be don't seem to have planned for a 21st-Century movement of public and private traffic.
