Albion manager Mark McGhee today revealed plans to keep Trevor Benjamin and sign another striker.
Benjamin's second month on loan to the Seagulls from troubled Leicester ends with next Tuesday's trip to Chesterfield.
McGhee's hopes of holding on to Benjamin for a third and final month are unlikely to be affected by the imprisonment of three Leicester players in Spain in connection with alleged assaults on women.
McGhee said: "We will be trying to keep him. I think we have to, even if we find somebody else as well.
"We still haven't seen the best of him and we are hoping to get more out of him."
Albion can still sign one more player on loan to strengthen their challenge for a play-off place.
"We are looking to use the loan but we have not as yet found somebody," McGhee said.
"If we had two or three loans left I am sure we would have brought somebody else in by now, but because we have only got the one we want it to be a striker."
Top scorer Leon Knight is a doubt for tomorrow night's home game against Tranmere Rovers.
Knight has been suffering from tonsillitis since last Thursday. The 21-goal marksman has not recovered and was unable to train yesterday.
If he is ruled out then 17-year-old Jake Robinson will probably make his full home debut alongside Benjamin.
Meanwhile, Paul Watson is expected to undergo surgery to remove a pelvic cyst, which could sideline him for up to another six weeks.
