Former Lewes defender Ben Hawes can look forward to this summer's Olympics after helping Great Britain secure a top-six finish at the men's qualifying tournament in Madrid.
A 2-1 play-off win against Belgium yesterday booked Great Britain their place for Athens, although the celebrations were overshadowed by the terrorist bomb attacks in the Spanish city.
Hawes, who now plays for Surbiton, was not on the scoresheet against Belgium but it was his hat-trick in Tuesday's final group game against South Africa which put Great Britain through to the second phase play-off stage.
Hawes' old team-mates face a Sussex derby on Sunday as Lewes visit East Grinstead in National League division two.
Leaders Grinstead are desperate for victory after losing two of their last three matches and player-coach Kwan Browne will choose from a full-strength squad.
Browne said: "We must get past this rivalry thing. When I joined at the beginning of the season I was told Lewes, Havant and Indian Gymkhana were the teams we always had big rivalry with and we have dropped points against all three teams this season.
"When we drew with Lewes earlier in the season we almost lost a game we expected to win. This time we cannot afford to slip up. We have more to lose than they do.
"My players are really up for this game."
Lewes have injury doubts over Sean Parker and Ryan Ibbotson but Alistair Boyse returns after a skiing trip.
