I thought Bruce Talbot's article on the Sussex cricket legends (The Argus, March 9) was excellent, but I think Tony Greig should have been mentioned.
But as we celebrate our county's finest cricketing hour, it would be nice to remember the unsung heroes.
These are the players who were always around when the more famous players were on the Test stage or when the county's fortunes were at a lower ebb.
Names that spring to mind include Alan Green, The Buss brothers, Bob Pountain, Don Bates, John Spencer, Richard Langridge and Ken Suttle.
Suttle set a record for consecutive appearances.
Nothing should detract from Sussex's greatest achievement but it's always nice to remember the "bread and butter" players.
