Having read the letters pages over a long period of time, I think most ordinary people are far from happy with Brighton and Hove City Council.
Take the bin trials as an examples. These were supposed to be in conjunction with recycling but I know of people who still haven't received their black boxes, despite numerous phone calls.
A drive past the Hollingdean depot reveals there are plenty of boxes there.
And what about traffic calming measures? I know of a meeting called to discuss poorly-placed humps. Unfortunately, although the residents turned up, the councillors and the highways representatives didn't.
The list goes on - street cleaning, street lighting, sports facilities, parking charges, the King Alfred development, the Endeavour development, seafront issues, roadworks.
I am sure that others can add to this list. Given this level of discontent, isn't it time for a change of leadership?
It seems the people of Brighton no longer have any confidence in their current leaders.
-Penny Hajduk, Lower Bevendean
