Perhaps after his Iraq trip, our MP and junior defence minister Ivor Caplin could tell us whether or not he thinks the world is a safer place now that Saddam Hussein has gone?

To me it doesn't seem so and, as a supporter of Labour Friends of Israel, Ivor can see that that country is now subject to more suicide bombings than ever.

We can find billions of pounds to wage war on and then occupy Iraq, yet when it comes to decent pensions, transport and investment in health and education we are told that the cash is not there.
