Your article asking "Should you be allowed to take the kids on holiday during the school term" (The Argus, March 15) coincidentally appeared on the same day that my children were off school for teacher training.
This has been the third time during the school year that this has occurred so why not compensate parents for these unauthorised and unnecessary days which cause disruption and inconvenience?
It would be totally hypocritical of the education authorities to consider imposing £100 fines on parents for taking term-time holidays while this practice continues.
