Eastbourne United kept on Littlehampton's heels with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Oakwood.
Scott McDonald missed a penalty but still managed to bag a double, including one from the spot, to secure the victory which keeps them four points behind the leaders, who have a game in hand.
United secretary Brian Dowling said: "With Wick and Midhurst and Easebourne losing, and Worthing United having their game postponed, we have strengthened our position for promotion."
Wick crashed 3-1 at Broadbridge Heath.
