Mr Addison's letter (March 15) about the loss of the Hippodrome and Grand Theatre reminded me how much entertainment has been lost in Brighton and Hove.
National league ice hockey with Brighton Tigers at the sports stadium, the Albion at the Goldstone, international tennis at the Brighton Centre, boat trips from the West Pier, a zoo at Withdean, band music at St Anne's Well Gardens and on Hove seafront, dancing at the Regent ballroom to Syd Dean and his band, cycle racing at Preston Park and table tennis tournaments at the Corn Exchange.
I know people's tastes change but these events seem to have been replaced by clubbing culture, binge drinking, drugs and punch-ups.
