I felt compelled to write to you after reading James Poulter's article on March 26.

This article was as funny as it was moving and I applaud James for being so frank about a subject that is so often ignored and hushed.

This type of journalism is the type that can influence change - and let's hope that it has. Somewhere out there a young victim of abuse may have read it and found the strength to speak up.

I look forward to reading more of his articles and only hope that his article will act as a precedent for other journalists to follow.
