Danny Marney has not ruled out a permanent return to Crawley Town after playing his final game on loan from Albion at Worcester last night.
The striker has been a big hit at Broadfield Stadium, scoring seven goals in two seperate loan spells to help the Reds to the top of the Dr Martens premier division.
By contrast, the 22-year-old has made only a handful of appearances for the Seagulls this season and knows he has his work cut out to earn a new contract in the summer.
If he fails to impress boss Mark McGhee over the next two months, Marney says he would like to sign for the Reds, particulary if they achieve promotion to the Conference and go full-time.
Marney said: "I'm out of contract in the summer so obviously my main aim is to do my best to earn a new contract at Brighton.
"I haven't really thought too much about my future beyond that but I have really enjoyed my time at Crawley this season so I would be more than happy to return if things don't turn out the way I hope at Albion.
"I get on really well with the lads and the manager, they've got great facilities and the club seems to be going places so it would definitely be an option I would seriously consider."
