Worthing's Clay Lamont and Gavin Jones struck second half goals to give Alan Pook's side their sixth successive victory in division one south.

Lamont broke the deadlock five minutes after the break by heading in a corner from Mark Pulling just outside the six-yard box.

Jones made the points safe two minutes from time by holding off a defender and heading over the line, after Rebels goalkeeper Will Packham had launched a free-kick into the area.

Worthing, losers of only one of their last 17 games, gave a debut to Burgess Hill striker Ashley Carr with 34-goal top scorer Sam Francis rested to a place on the bench.

Conditions were made difficult due to a bouncy pitch but Worthing had the better chances before the break and a shot on the turn from Jones went narrowly wide early on.

Rebels, making up ground on leaders Windsor and Eton with games in hand, are next in action at Banstead tomorrow.

Windsor could only draw 0-0 with Marlow last night.
