Lewes want to play the generation game all the way to a promotion play-off.
Skipper Dave Hemsley and his men host Tonbridge Juddian on Saturday knowing a win will secure second spot in London Three South East and a play-off with Old Wimbledonians.
Outside half Dave Tyrell will be leading Lewes's bid for glory, just like his dad Steve did from No. 10 in the Eighties.
Club chairman Terry Powell said: "They are both running fly halves although Steve possibly had a better boot on him kicking out of the hand.
"When Dave's dad was playing, our game was to move the ball but the game has changed these days. Defences are far more organised and we use our forwards to punch holes."
Neil Rumble could be back from a hamstring problem to compete with Mike Rusthall for the full back slot. If Lewes slip-up, Chichester can nick second spot by beating Dartfordians.
It is also a big weekend for Sussex under-20s, who go to Tiverton to meet Devon in the last eight of the County Championship on Sunday (2.15pm).
Brighton, bottom of Three South East, top the league as the RFC announce £1 million of extra funding as part of the community club development programme.
The Waterhall club will use their grant of £324,646 towards the cost of a planned synthetic pitch.
