Crawley manager Francis Vines believes his current squad is good enough to play in the Conference.

Reds won 1-0 at high-flying Nuneaton Borough with a much-changed side from the one which clinched the premier division title at Welling last week.

Defenders Ian Payne and Karl Ready came in for the rested Sean Hankin and captain Kevin Hemsley, while Fiston Manuella and Danny Marney replaced Peter Fear and Allan Tait.

Robert Traynor scored the decisive goal with a neat chip on 56 minutes after being set up by Marney to put Reds 13 points clear at the top with three games still to play.

Vines said: "There won't be any wholesale changes to the team next season because I think the players have shown they are good enough. They deserve the chance to prove they can play in the Conference and will get it."
