You reported that a mother was jailed because her son didn't attend school for a year (The Argus, April 7).
Children don't ask to come into the world. They are human beings, not toys or something to turn out into the streets.
They are entitled to be brought up properly and have respect for themselves, other people and the environment. And they're entitled to the very best education they can absorb.
Irresponsible parents deserve punishment.
